Social conformity in adolescence

Abstract

Research has shown that unlike the nineteenth century, which was a century of individuality, the twentieth century is a century of collectivities, large (thousands of people, so-called large organizations) or small (2 - 3 or 10 - 15 people, so-called small groups), which contribute to the smooth running of social, economic, political life, etc.

The emergence of both large and small groups has led to an increase in the interest of social psychology to study the phenomena that may occur in these groups, but also in society in general, due to their emergence and development. Within the groups there are a series of social processes and phenomena, which can positively or negatively influence the structure, evolution or duration of the group. One of these phenomena that occurs very frequently within the group is social conformity.
