Implications of post-traumatic stress disorder among the military population

Known as PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder occurs after experiencing events such as war, natural disasters, etc. In this article, we analyze the phenomenon of PTSD in the military populations of NATO bases in Romania, where this disorder has grown in recent years. Given that research in the field is quite poor, this information can help inform prevention and screening efforts, as screening programs could be targeted at high-risk populations. Given the prevalence and possible consequences of PTSD among active military personnel, the continuous development and evaluation of effective screening methods is an important public health need.
