The stressful effects of long journeys

Abstract

In modern society, transportation is an indispensable element of life, because it offers people the opportunity to know, perceive and assimilate as much as possible from what human civilization provides. Satisfying the material and spiritual needs of society and of each individual, in part, requires ensuring the proper organization of the movement in time and space of goods and people, transport having this important role. Transport is the circular system of the entire planet and at the same time of each country, in part, being an important branch of material production without which the existence of a modern society would be inconceivable. The important place that maritime transport occupies in the unitary transport system in our country is due to the advantages it offers: transport capacity; increased efficiency over long distances; the impossibility of replacing it in trade relations between continents; mobility; relatively low cost price; promptness and safety in operation. This means that Romania has been training tens of generations of officers and sub-officers working in this branch since 1872.
